Tasshi Gary Harper holds a first dan black belt in Jujitsu, first dan black belt in Judo and level six (black belt equivalent) in Warriors Eskrima. He has been training in total for over thirty years.

He has only been a permanent member of the Kajuen Ryu since 2017 but has become an invaluable part of the club. In May 2024 he earned second dan black belt in Aiki-Jujitsu along with the honorific of Tasshi
